Normal role description: | This protein member of the tumor-necrosis factor receptor superfamily but is known mainly by the name RANK and is involved in the TNFSF11/RANKL/TRANCE/OPGL complex in bone; essential for RANKL-mediated osteoclastogenesis. Defects in this gene have been implicated in bone mineral diseases but role in cancer remains unclear. Given its described activation of NF-kB signalling it is possible that TNFRSF6B can promote oncogensis through this pathway. |
